MARCK has been able to gain the renowned lawyer and in-house counsel Michael Vetter as Of Counsel as of August 1, 2023.

Michael supports the firm in particular in state aid law matters. Among other things, he has brought an action against the EU Commission before the European Court of First Instance on behalf of a department store chain and a fashion retailer regarding the exclusion of corona subsidies and advised a transport association on the acquisition of battery-powered trains. Through this step, MARCK expands its range of advice to include the important area of state aid law and our clients benefit from even more comprehensive regulatory advice.

Michael is also very experienced in antitrust law, the core advisory field of the firm. Most recently, he was Salaried Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek in Düsseldorf before joining the legal department of E.ON SE. Michael is also a lecturer at Heinrich Heine University and co-author of the Frankfurt Commentary on Antitrust Law. He volunteers as CFO of the transatlantic scholarship network Fulbright Alumni e.V.
